Burning Skies

There was more to the lost lies in the morning light.

I remember your bronze glowing skin in the morning light,

the long awaited sunlight destroying our forever moment.

But I remember you,

I always do.

Your my East, my West,

my very journey.

I can´t remember, and I can´t help but wonder

a time without you.

The ocean in our hearts,

the skies in our eye,

we fell into each other and never let go.

No matter how many burning cities we came across,

our hardships numerous,

over it all I had you,

your palm in my hand, warm,

all the warmth I needed.

Even when Iḿ six feet under

I will remember you,

a day watered by the rain,

the mud on my shoes,

I will remember you and all the roses we bloomed together.
