March Reading Ladder – 2019

This month I’ve been getting into Greek mythology and all those stories, I’ve been reading Homers stories about the Iliad and the Odyssey and all of those things. I’m very much proud of the amount of reading I’ve been going through, the Iliad and the Odyssey are a lot for me.

Tittle: The Iliad

Author: Homer

Pages: 366

Rating: ★★★(alright) (why not?)

I have read so so many descriptions of men being killed that its stupid. There were so many long long, paragraph long, metaphors that that is also stupid. I have read about the gods meddling just because its fate I guess and I’m sick of that too. I have read about the arrogance of men and their super dramatic mourning. I can’t say though that it was all bad, now that its over I’d say that that was a very wild ride, not the best ride but a very wild ride.

Tittle: The Odyssey

Rating: ★★★★ (4 stars) Really good

This was one which I really wanted to read so that I could compare it to Percy Jackson and the sea of monsters. I got pretty invested in the story though and enjoyed reading about the various adventures Odysseus went on and how he and his son dealt with the suitors. I expected more out of the corrector of Penelope but I guess she wouldn’t be someone written like I want her to be back then.

Tittle: Ithaka

Author: Adele Geras

Pages: 360

Rating: ★★★★ (4 stars) Really good

I think this one was my favorite because all the god just came in one after the other and just had small cameos and it was great, and the girls and people were very strong and relatable and I loved it after reading stuff like the Iliad and the Odyssey

Math:

360 + 398 + 366 = 1,124 / 4 = 849.5 (per month)

360 + 398 + 366 = 1,124 / 31 = 769.80 (per day)
